Industry Context

The Challenge for Enterprise Distributors

Peter and Matthew Cassar founded Sherweb in Sherbrooke in 1998. Microsoft named it Partner of the Year for Canada in 2025 and an Americas finalist the same year. The company sells to thousands of partners as an indirect cloud solution provider, holds every Microsoft Solutions Partner designation, and keeps its own compliance record current across PCI DSS, CMMC Level 1, CSA STAR Level 1 and Cyber Essentials. An office in Dublin covers the European side of the business, because the partner base spans North America and Europe rather than sitting neatly in one time zone

Distribution creates an odd asymmetry. Partners resell security licences at volume, and the licence is the easy part, because the customer then wants the Microsoft 365 tenant hardened and the alerts actually watched by somebody. Most of those partners are small businesses themselves and cannot keep a security engineer on payroll for work that arrives in bursts. When they cannot deliver, the renewal is at risk, and the renewal sits on Sherweb's books. A marketplace that has solved licensing but not delivery leaves its own revenue exposed to somebody else's hiring problem

CWS is the delivery layer that sits behind those partners. We staff security engagements under the reseller's brand, or under Sherweb's, to a single standard across the United States and Canada, and in French where Quebec or Canadian federal work calls for it. Scoping and quoting run through Corova, and so does project tracking, which means a partner can put a real number on a security assessment the same afternoon a customer asks for one. No hiring, and no second logo in front of the customer

Positioned at the Point of Decision

Why This Matters for Sherweb

A cloud marketplace is judged by what its partners can actually deliver after the sale closes. Sherweb has spent decades taking friction out of licensing, and the friction that remains is human. It sits in the partner who cannot staff the work the licence implies, which makes solving it a distribution advantage rather than a service line
