Industry Context

The Challenge for Enterprise Distributors

John R. and Elizabeth J. Talley started the business in Santa Fe Springs, California in 1983 and ran it as a family company until Rexel USA bought it in May 2024. The footprint now runs to twelve distribution centers, from Santa Fe Springs across to Carlstadt in New Jersey, carrying antennas, coaxial cable, lightning protection and in building systems. Talley also builds its own cable assemblies under an ISO 9001 registration valid to February 2027

The cable assembly line is the clue. An ISO 9001 registration proves that a jumper was swept and built to specification, which is a manufacturing control. Nothing in it speaks to the network that will run across the infrastructure Talley supplies. Private wireless and in building coverage are IP systems first and radio second now, carrying authentication and logging obligations that did not exist when the business was selling connectors and coax to tower crews. Integrators buy the parts and then ask Talley who ought to be able to reach the controller. Rexel ownership makes that harder to wave away, because a buyer who sees a parent of that size behind the logo assumes the answer already exists somewhere inside the group

CWS supplies the answer without Talley hiring for it. Engagements are staffed and run under the Talley name, to one delivery standard, at sites across the United States and Canada, and in French where Quebec or Canadian federal buyers require it. Corova holds the scoping, the quoting and the project tracking, which means the branch quoting a cable order can quote a security engagement from the same screen and with the same margin discipline

Positioned at the Point of Decision

Why This Matters for Talley

Rexel USA acquired a position with the integrators who build wireless infrastructure, not simply a catalogue of parts. That position appreciates if Talley can answer the security questions those integrators now field on private and in building networks, and erodes every quarter it cannot. Adding the capability by engagement costs nothing until a customer asks
