The Challenge for Enterprise Resellers
Alithya closed fiscal 2026 on March 31, 2026 with revenue of $477.4 million, and on July 27, 2026 announced the launch of a strategic review process. The company began in 1992, founded by Ghyslain Rivard alongside information technology people who came out of Mouvement Desjardins, and a good deal of what it is now arrived by purchase. Edgewater Technology in 2018. Datum Consulting Group and Vitalyst in 2022
A strategic review narrows what a delivery organisation is permitted to do. Adding permanent headcount is hard to justify while the shareholder outcome is open, and a consultancy assembled from acquisitions is already carrying more delivery models than it would have chosen. Alithya sells strategic consulting that includes cybersecurity next to its Microsoft and Oracle application practices, which means security scope keeps attaching itself to transformation deals that were won on enterprise application credibility. The partner who closed the deal has an applications bench. Declining the security portion hands a competitor a foothold inside the account, and recruiting for it mid review is not a decision anyone will sign
That is the shape of work CWS takes. We supply security engineers who carry the Alithya brand into the room, invoice through Alithya and leave the customer relationship exactly where it started, held to one delivery standard whether the account sits in Canada or the United States. Quebec mandates and Canadian federal mandates get French language delivery, because those files do not proceed otherwise. Scoping, quoting and project tracking run through Corova, our platform, so a practice lead can price a security workstream inside a larger transformation proposal without waiting on an internal resourcing conversation
Why This Matters for Alithya
Variable cost is the only kind of capacity a company under strategic review can comfortably add. Alithya can attach security scope to the Microsoft and Oracle deals it is already winning and recognise the margin without touching headcount. That is a decision a practice lead can make on a Tuesday
