The Challenge for Enterprise Resellers
The name is younger than the company. Blue Mantis traded as GreenPages from 1992, a title borrowed from the Yellow Pages, back when the business was a catalog reseller shipping servers and routers. Headquarters moved across the river to Kittery, Maine, and later back to Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The rebrand landed in July 2023, and Recognize took majority control in September 2024, with Abry Partners, a backer since 2020, staying on as a minority holder
Recognize was explicit about the plan: acquisitions that add scale and delivery geographies. Blue Mantis has been executing it, taking Arcas Risk Management in 2023 for incident response and compliance advisory and standing up delivery capability in India and Canada. Each addition brings engineers who learned the job somewhere else, with their own runbooks and their own idea of what finished looks like. More than 2,500 midsize and enterprise clients across banking, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, government and education have no reason to care how the capability was assembled. What they notice is whether the engineer who shows up in month nine works the way the one in month one did. Integration debt is quieter than technical debt and much harder to bill for
CWS adds capability without adding another integration project. Our engineers deliver security work under the Blue Mantis brand, held to one standard whether the customer sits in the United States or Canada, and in French for Quebec and Canadian federal engagements. Corova runs the scoping, the quote and the project tracking, so a subcontracted engagement reads the same in your reporting as an internal one. Nothing about it reaches the customer as an outsourcing decision

Why This Matters for Blue Mantis
A buy and build strategy makes the delivery standard the hardest thing to hold steady, and it is the only thing clients actually experience. Blue Mantis can keep acquiring capability and still need a consistent bench underneath it. That bench does not have to sit on your payroll to behave as though it does
