Industry Context

The Challenge for Mid-Market Resellers

DataVox carries a Texas Department of Public Safety private security licence, number B16503. Most IT providers have no reason to hold one. This company does, because the team that runs a client's network and data centre also installs the cameras, the access control and the alarm systems. Both halves of that business trace back to 1990 in Houston, and Dallas and Fort Worth came later

Convergence is the sell, and it is also the exposure. Cameras, badge readers and building controllers all run on IP now, which means the physical security estate DataVox installs sits on the infrastructure the DataVox network team built. When a hospital, a school district or a public safety agency asks who is accountable for segmenting those devices, patching them and controlling who can authenticate to the management console, every line of that question points back at one supplier. Commercial real estate and energy clients are starting to ask it too. A proper answer needs security architects and assessors rather than another install crew, and that is a different hiring market from the one DataVox recruits in

Renting that capability under your own name is what CWS exists to do. We staff security engagements as DataVox, to a single delivery standard, across the United States and Canada, with English and French coverage where Quebec or Canadian federal work demands it. The client sees your project manager, your paper and your invoice. Corova carries the scoping, the quote and the project tracking, so the engagement runs on a system instead of on email threads, and so the second one is easier to price than the first

Positioned at the Point of Decision

Why This Matters for DataVox

DataVox already owns the hardest part of the convergence problem, which is physical access to the building and the trust that comes with it. What it does not own is the assessment and architecture layer that the client will eventually buy from somebody. Far better that somebody bills through you
