Industry Context

The Challenge for Enterprise Resellers

In June 2018, roughly a year after it came into existence, DXC Technology separated its entire US Public Sector business and merged it with Vencore Holding Corp. and KeyPoint Government Solutions to form Perspecta Inc. What stayed behind was commercial work. The company itself reaches back much further, to Computer Sciences Corporation, founded in Los Angeles in April 1959 and merged in 2017 with the Enterprise Services business of Hewlett Packard Enterprise. Perspecta lasted until 2021, when Peraton acquired it

Losing the federal arm removed a category of work that used to absorb specialists between commercial engagements, and the years since have set a pattern. Revenue for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2025 was $12.87 billion, down 5.8 percent, while more than 120,000 people work across over 60 countries on agreements that get reopened well inside their terms. Security is usually where the reopening happens, because a customer's obligations change faster than a master services agreement does. Hiring permanently in one city to answer that is slow, and it is the wrong instinct when revenue is contracting

CWS fills those gaps under the DXC name. Assessment work, identity rollouts, detection engineering and incident response run to one delivery standard across the US and Canada, and French speaking consultants take the files where Quebec or Canadian federal requirements demand them. Scoping, quoting and project tracking live in Corova, so a DXC account lead reads the same engagement record the delivery team writes. No logo of ours ever appears. What the customer sees is DXC, and the contract stays exactly where it is

Why This Matters for DXC Technology

DXC does not lack security capability. What it lacks is a way to add a named skill, in a named city, for a named quarter, without that decision showing up as permanent cost on a balance sheet already under pressure. Buying capacity by the engagement instead of by the headcount is the whole point of the arrangement
