Industry Context

The Challenge for Enterprise Resellers

GM Sectec opened in 1970 as General Computer Corporation and took the GM Group name in the 1990s, which makes it older than most of the payment standards it now assesses against. From San Juan it holds the Qualified Security Assessor and PCI Forensic Investigator appointments, and it runs four incident response centers it calls Alpha, Bravo, Charlie and Delta

Assessor work and remediation work pull in opposite directions. The firm that audits a payment environment cannot always be the firm that rebuilds it, so engineering capacity has to sit close by but clearly separate, and it has to be available on the client's compliance calendar rather than on a staffing plan set a year earlier. Coverage is the second strain. GM Sectec reaches more than 50 countries with offices through Mexico, Central America, Brazil, Chile, Spain and Australia, and its center of gravity sits in the Caribbean and the Americas south of the United States. Canada is the near neighbor it is least configured for, and Canadian work tends to arrive with a French language requirement attached and a federal procurement standard behind it

CWS is the engineering bench for exactly that. We deliver under the GM Sectec brand to a single standard across the United States and Canada, staffed in English and in French, so Quebec and Canadian federal engagements need no separate arrangement and no second contract. Scope, price and delivery tracking run through Corova, which keeps a bilingual engagement spanning several countries readable to whoever has to sign it off, in the language they sign it in

Why This Matters for GM Sectec

An assessor's independence is worth protecting, and so is the client relationship an assessment opens. Handing the remediation to a partner who works under your brand keeps both intact. It also puts Canada inside your map rather than beside it
