Industry Context

The Challenge for Mid-Market Resellers

NetGain Technologies started in 1984 as a Valcom franchise, a computer store Don and Molly Jacobson opened in Lexington, Kentucky. It became Inacom in 1997, took the NetGain name in 2002, and put its own managed services offering into the market in 2003. Almost everything after that was assembly. Avow Technologies came in 2005, DLP Technologies in 2012, IntraSource in 2013 and NCDTech in 2018, followed by investment from Evergreen Services Group in 2021 and a move under Lyra Technology Group in 2023

Six offices across five states, most of them arriving with an acquired company attached, is a standardisation problem before it is anything else. NetGain answered part of it with a SOC 2 Type II attestation, which means an auditor tested how the work is actually performed rather than how a policy says it should be. That raises the floor. It also raises the price of every exception. A penetration test in Chattanooga and a SIEM tuning engagement in St. Louis booked for the same fortnight have to produce evidence of equal quality, from people working the same way. Hiring for the peak in five states is expensive. Under a group owner watching the numbers, so is missing them

CWS is the elastic part of that bench. Our engineers deliver under the NetGain brand, to one standard, across the United States and Canada, and in French when Quebec or Canadian federal work makes it necessary. Corova produces the scope and the quote and then tracks delivery, which matters most when an attestation depends on the evidence trail staying clean no matter who did the work

Why This Matters for NetGain Technologies

A SOC 2 Type II is a promise about consistency, and consistency is the first thing a stretched bench breaks. Turning down the specialist project is the cheap failure. Taking it and delivering it differently from the last five is the one that shows up in the next audit
