The Challenge for Mid-Market Resellers
Eleven acquisitions. TecServe, announced in 2026, was the eleventh, and it landed within months of Imagis. Earl Foote started the firm in Salt Lake City in 1998 and spent most of its first two decades on Utah clients. Then Metropolitan Partners Group put in $60 million of growth capital in June 2025, and the map changed shape, now running from Reno through Salt Lake City to Manhattan
Buying eleven companies is quicker than making eleven companies deliver the same way. Each one arrived with its own engineers, its own tooling preferences and its own working definition of what a security assessment covers. Nexus sells into healthcare, finance and legal, where the examiner reviewing the client cares a great deal about consistency, and where an engagement run by a recently acquired team has to read like one run by the Salt Lake City originals. Integration work of that kind competes with the next deal for management attention, and the next deal tends to win, because that is what the growth capital was raised to do. Specialist security roles stay thin in the meantime. A firm that has been buying managed service providers cannot buy senior assessment and compliance talent at the same pace
That is where CWS comes in. Our engineers deliver under the Nexus IT name to a single documented standard, so an integration still in progress never shows up in the client's report. Coverage spans the US and Canada, and we deliver in French where Quebec or Canadian federal requirements demand it. Scoping, quoting and project tracking run through Corova, which means every engagement leaves the same paper trail regardless of which acquired office sold it
Why This Matters for Nexus IT Consultants
A roll up is judged internally on the twelfth deal and externally on the last report a client received. Renting a fixed delivery standard while integration catches up stops those two measures fighting each other. It also means the diligence team can keep its calendar
