Cybersecurity Services for Secureworks (Sophos)

Secureworks spent years as a public company with its Counter Threat Unit as the visible asset, then was bought by Sophos in 2025 for $859 million. Its last reported year as an independent business showed $365.9 million of revenue.

Being owned by a security vendor changes what Secureworks is in the channel. A managed service that recommends tooling is credible when it has nothing to sell; a managed service owned by a product company is answering a question its parent has an interest in. Customers know this, and partners reselling the service now have to explain an ownership structure that did not exist when they first sold it. That is not fatal, but it is a conversation, and conversations lose deals.

CWS is tool agnostic by construction, which is useful precisely where that question comes up. Assessment and advisory work with no product attached, delivered under whichever brand the relationship calls for. It gives a partner an answer when a customer asks who is advising them and what that adviser sells.
